In Greek mythology, Leda was a beautiful Aetolian princess, who Zeus fell in love with. To elude his wife Hera’s attention, Zeus transformed himself into an injured swan and pretended to be fleeing from an eagle. Leda took pity on the swan and cradled it in her lap, where Zeus took advantage of her kindness.
